The whole of Glykoupoli was buzzing.
Two hundred drummers with all-gold drums, adorned with red handkerchiefs, and so many other trumpeters celebrated with the crowds, who sang in all the streets of the city, the birth of Princess Elysia, daughter of King Karamelogenas II and Basel.
On the roofs of the houses, pink bunnies danced smiling and, high up, bakers, in sugar balloons, scattered heart-shaped vanilla lollipops, pastels and caramelized blueberries, made by the hand of Mr. Zahalariou, in Glykoupoli an entire caramel castle, full of candy toys inside.
That is why many children gathered from all over the city but also from the surrounding countries, Meludistan, Halvadouai, Bieberochora, Fio de Frutairo, the Frozen Land of the North, the country of Canelada and the Copa Banana, to play in this castle….
